I was going to start a similar thread, but since you guys already did it...

Many already said part of what I wanted to say. I do hope that CDRP realize how crazy it is to release a game after the weekend, in a Monday/Tuesday night when I'll just be able to download the missing piece and go to bed, because next morning I have to work! And I don't really see what damage can an early release do, since they already lifted the embargo for journalists and the Net is full of reviews and so much more (on youtube you can already find walkthroughs, for God's sake, walkthroughs!)... and it would be just 3 days, I think we deserve this.

But there's one thing that no one said, that's really bothering me

Many people, like me, bought the game as soon as preorder was available, almost 1 year (ONE YEAR[) ago. When we did that, you guys at CDRP and GOG gave us a release date.

It wasn't May 19th. It was February 24th. You didn't deliver.

In any Western Country that would be a very serious breach of contract, and I think you know that.

Honestly, I was expecting, given your history with customers, to have some sort of compensation for this delay, like, say, a discount on the Expansion pass. You did nothing, very unlike the CDRP we came to know and love.

Now, you can at least do this. Give us this weekend to start explore the amazing world of The Witcher 3. Give us the last piece of the game today; do it, at least, for the people who bought the game before the announcement of the delay in the release date... after all, for us, it wouldn't be an early release, on the contrary, a slightly less late release. You have nothing to lose, and all to gain from that. No, more than that. You have something to save: our faith and trust in you ('cause lately, they've been really shaking).

Yeah, it would be nice if we could play now, but we don't know all the
pieces of the puzzle.
I think Cd Project is also bound to contracts, perhaps with retailers, perhaps with the
Big Console Guys (Microsoft, Xbox One), so, if they would give us the file(s) now, they could
be in serious trouble.
The thing i wanted to state is, we don't know whats going on behind the curtain.

So a "ah goodamit release it already" could be not as easy as it seems to be, because of
Contracts.

Would i like to play it now at the Weekend instead of next week/weekend (lot of work to do next week, mehh)?
Of course.
But i do understand that there could be things that we don't know which makes it impossible for
CdProject to release the Pc Version now.
Its sad, and i hope for their next game they will do it differently, but now we have to live with it.

This is quite true. It doesn't quench completely my disappointment, but it's true. I hope they're releasing the PC version for last because it's so awesome no console version could stand against it! :D

This thoughts bothers me the most...
Why it is okay for Sony/MS to buy a earlier release for their platforms? (at other games they did officially) ... its not okay. We PC Players get rated as second Class gamers because of that!
It really hurts me inside, to see that we PC Gamers gets rated down a bit more every year... but still are a big base of the gaming comunity... but no "big" company is sitting behind ALL PCGamers that is why we dont get such contracts for us.... it is not fair and it really rating in classes and we are the second class gamers here, it seems that our money is not us much worth and that developers dont need to care as much about PC as about consoles.

I dont mean this is the same here!
I can really imaging that CDP just wanted to have the retails for consoles etc. out there early so that all have their version on the 19th for sure! And HELL I AGREE WITH THAT!
BUT - it cannot be right that console Players already play the game for over 4(FOUR) days earlier for this reason!
We Pre-Order people have the same rights and limitations as all sellers - so either ALL are allowed early or NONE.

At the moment we are moving at second class for us here, we are not as importand - no one cares official about this.
This does not mean that CDP does not think about an solution, but I've not heared of an official statement so far, which bothers me.

I already lost faith in other developers who use the PC just for maxing out the money after getting out as much of the consoles as possible and release PC just as a "ahh... okay... here PC gamers, weeks or even month later you can play with the rest as well. But... all secrets and cool things are already found so you can get the cold rest of the food now! HAHA!"
Thats what it feels like, deeper inside. For many many games. Thats why I'M up for fair release dates.
I need to activate my game Online? WHY NOT THE CONSOLE PLAYERS AS WELL?
You can now argue - Consoles can be used perfectly offline. MY PC AS WELL! I am not forced to have Internet on my PC, so what? Only because I get a download version of the Game I'm less worth? I save costs for the developer but pay the same money - they get MORE MONEY OUT OF MY CONTRACT! So why do I get not handled the same as all others but even worse?

Make a online activation needed for ALL on the release date - than no one can play early without beein illegal, or remove it for all! Than we can all start at the same day as well.
THAT would be a fair and consumer friendly move.

Sorry but really raging about this thing for a long long time and lots of games now... as a PC Gamer by birth for around 20 Years now I really get mad about this.

Me

Why we're waiting?
Please CDPR realease the game today!

It's a horrible feeling to see that some people already playing the game by dubious means and I bought it with lawful and correct way can not
I hate flamewars, but this is undeniable.. CDProjekt has sold their soul to the consoles. They don't give a bleeding damn about PC gamers anymore apparently, just notice how not a single representative of their firm has even posted a reason of why they are making us wait.
The game is already out there, it's working, shops have their hard copies, everything is set to sail, yet we have to wait.. Even worse when *all* of the support they had with the previous games came from the PC community, and this is how they repay us.
Shameful indeed.
My local Wal-Mart and Gamestop (Central Florida) is selling it. CDPR is self publishing or WB Games aren't enforcing the release embargo because how could they? As I was typing this I also called up the Volusia Mall and Sanford Town Center and they are both selling it this weekend on consoles.

This is truly fucked up. I wanted to support them directly by purchasing from GOG but I'm getting my money back and buying it on Steam for the convenience. Seems like they're all about the console sales and giving the finger to the people that put them on the map. So disappointing.

I fully agree!!!! This is just not right - the wait has been so long and now the only thing we need is the 1.01 PC patch which has already been released for PS4!!!! ???

Whats going on.....
In Spain the shops have been selling it since yesterday
It isn't the fault of CDPR that a bunch of stores are breaking their arrangements. If anything, it just sets the stage for a bunch of lawsuits. If CDPR breaks the date too, they will have shaky ground from which to prosecute.

Skan001: http://www.pcgamer.com/middle-earth-shadow-of-mordor-launching-five-days-early/

No one blame Monolith for realease Shadow Of Mordor earlier rs
"Based on hearing fans' excitement over the latest chronicle in Middle-earth, WBIE will release the action game earlier than originally planned at all participating retailers," the publisher said in a press release. Monolith Community Manager Andy Salisbury emphasized the point on Twitter , writing, "We're fans of giving the people what they want!"

they behaved great with their fans!!
I wanted to express my gratitude to CD Projekt for they have done for the gaming community all this years. I have both collectors editions for pc of Witcher 1 and 2 and proud of it, not only because they are great games but because of the compromise that this company made to gamers about no DMR and many other things.

After this I must say that I must agree with the position that people here are expressing. I do know it's only a few more days until the official release but people here are just expressing what you wanted and worked for this past months, meaning, increasing the hype. I don't even care with the rage about the downscale of graphics and other issues, I just want to live the experience you always achieved with Witcher 1 and 2. An official statement on gaming websites and social media stating that you've released the game earlier is just scoring points with the gaming community. The appreciation that you've always demonstrated all these years for us and us for you would be continued by this action. By any means I won't be upset if you don't this but, It would just show love for the supporters.

It won't probably happen but at least I just wanted to show my point of view. Worst case scenario I will be playing the Witcher 3 on the 19th.

Good luck with the release of The Witcher 3 and for all the "projekts" you are working at this time (already hyped for Cyberpunk 2077).

An humble fan.
