I am having a tough time with this game. First of all, I wanna say that it looks amazing for the most time, except for the aforementioned Transparent Ground Textures. This graphical issue is the most noticeable in Novigrad; some streets look sharp, whilst some have this weird 'floating transparent texture' glitchy thingy. Now, I wanna know if there is a tweak that will help me annul that glaring issue, cause I really dig the graphics.

My specs are:

-Intel i7-6700 3,4 GHz
-Nvidia Geforce GTX 970 (latest drivers)
-16GB of DDR3 ram (1833 MHz)
-Windows 7 64bit (service pack 1)

Spec's look fine and game should run without those bugs.Try lowering the settings and see if it goes away.You may have a small game bug,verify everything is okay.Nexus may have some mods that may help.

Try rolling back to older drivers.

Tried that already. Maybe you could give me the names of these mods? What drivers, what version? Please be specific; I am using the latest Nvidia, and before them, mid May drivers, and before them June drivers.

I wasn't being specific. Sometimes newer drivers cause issues that older ones don't have, but finding the 'right' version can often be trial and error.

Oh man, I wish I had the time and the patience to experiment with all possible combinations... Anyway, just thought there was some trick with tweaks that I could apply and make it look perfect as it should be. I intensely dislike it when my feet fall through road texture.

Hey mate, I had the same problem. I think it was causes by me mixed installation between Gog Galaxy and manual patches. I installed the game with the first two or three patches through GOG Galaxy. And I don't remember why, but I manually updated the game for the other patches (They were available before I guess).

In Skellige, it became unbearable. I uninstalled all my mods : Still the same / Downloaded the whole game and patches manually : All was fine this time. Reinstalled my mods: Still fine.

It may be the same problem for you.

Well, if it fit your experience, if you mixed sources from direct download / DVD / Gog Galaxy for game and patches, it may be the source of your problem.

Anyway, it's never a bad thing, when experiencing such a problem, to go back from scratch. Backup your mods, and install your game from a single source. I'd suggest downloading everything from gog site, and avoid Galaxy as it is what I've done and it's working fine since.

Just wanted to clear this up: I bought the game on GOG (duh), I downloaded it not via GOG Galaxy (I use Steam for gaming), but with a simple download. When I first saw the issue, I've contacted CD Projekt RED support. They gave me a smartmouth answer to verify the game files on GOG Galaxy. I said "okay, I'll download it via GOG Galaxy and do try to fix it by verifying the game files."
After painstaiking 7 hours, the download over GOG Galaxy was finished; I've done as the support guy said but it didn't fix the bug. Then he asked me to provide him with the save game of the issue, I said "sure, I can do that." So I sent him a savegame of me standing in a Floating Transparent Ground Texture. He then said to try and start my game from scratch, and see if the issue persists. I was like thinking to myself "LOL, I spend 60+ hours on that save, and now I have to start from scratch, give me a break!"

Point is: this game could have been the best thing since sliced bread, but the graphical glitches are just far too jarring to overlook, considering this is the game that prides itself of its appearance. And btw, I wish I had the time to monkey around with Witcher 3, but I barely had time as it is, so I wanted for my first playthrough to be as painless as possible.

You've had some helpful hints on your issue here, but don't seem very interested in solving your problem.

Backup your saves, uninstall the game (and Galaxy) completely and download / reinstall with the latest game files, latest patch, DLC package and expansion from your GOG account. Copy your saves back. If you latest save still has issues, try starting a new game to see if that graphical corruption is still there. It is possible, but not likely that the corruption is with your save files. If the issue persists, try rolling back your driver a version or 2.

There are millions of PC users with all sorts of different hardware that are running this game flawlessly, so it is not a "bug" in the game code as you seem to think. Something is wrong with your hardware, installation or configuration.

I'm not angry, how can I be angry at someone who's trying to help me...

I'm just frustrated because I don't have the time to experiment with every option possible. Like I said, I have already tried with different installations, but I simply don't have the time to invest in this game, since it's so friggin' huge! But I love it! Maybe when I quit my job I'll get to play Witcher 20 proper like :D
