Wow, just wow.

I waited for colder temperatures and a new GFX card (GTX 970), so today I finally got to play W3.

And if this isn't game of the year then I don't know what. Even down to the beautiful main menu and the interface design there isn't a single thing I could want differently.

I wish we had a game like that every six months instead of every few years. But then I might have to quit my job...
Yeah great RPG, makes those Bethesda/Bioware story and character writers look pathetic and amateur in comparison.
Don't quit your job tho
To be fair, they had more source to work with ;)

I like the Elderscroll Lore, but it's all over the map, each title a new country and era. This series has such a strong buildup on the other hand...

There are other good AAA titles I recently got to play, but the combination of story, presentation, technical quality and sheer amount of things here is kind of asking for a new AAAA classification.

The last day I was so awed by a game would have been 11.11.11 - Skyrim. Feels like being 22 again and going to the cinema for "Return of the King" to finish the LOTR triology - this game is on that level.

This game will eat your social life up lol.

I have over 200hrs sunk into this game when my save file got corrupted lol. That is ok this game is so fun I don't mind doing it over again.

Look at Nexus for mods they will enhance the game for you.
It is the greatest video game ever created, simple as this. Can't wait for the expansions.
I'm finding a few minor niggles now. Mostly the way you sometimes have to stand in *just* the right spot to activate an "examination". Or how you can't activate stuff you already have seen, but not marked with Witcher sense.

Some of the interface could use a "rollover" function, i.e. when you're at the bottom of a long list (Glossary or crafting) and want to move to top again.

But damn, a game where this is the biggest criticism... they definitly have a real Winner here. And it's making them plenty of money too, despite being DRM free.
Yeah it is amazing, but subsequent plays have made me rethink it a little. The game has real pacing problems when you get to Novigrad, the quests surrounding Dandelion are very weak, and that is being kind. A lot of witcher universe content, especially leading on Witcher 2 was completely absent, a lot of important characters as well, and some of the quests later on are also not very well fleshed out and feel rushed, especially in comparison to the attention Dandelion gets. It picks up again after this lull though.

Hopefully the expansions will be more than just standalone and add some content in to the game in the manner that tales of the sword coast and throne of bhaal did from baldur's gate.
I certainly think it's the best game I've ever played; I'm enjoying it even more on my 2nd playthrough with the NG+ as I'm catching subtleties that I missed the first time. It certainly has many imperfections, but it reaches higher than any game before it.

If you're gonna pirate something, chances are you will, DRM or no DRM.
I own all 3 games despite having played W1 on my roomate's at the time PC. I bought something because I thought it offered value / wanted it in my library.

Some Lucky bastards got W1&W2 free here with the pre-order :P
(and yes i know, we got a discount on the new game by owning 1 and 2)

Yeah it is pretty good as an adventure, just a shame that the RPG gameplay is so bad. Action combat, no interesting stats or skillsystem, equipment scaled or levellocked. Still a vast improvement over 1 and 2 which were completely terrible apart from the excellent stories and presentation.

LOL this hurts my feelings because I loved both games but honestly can't argue with you. Reinstalled w2 a few days ago and am now shocked at how primitive it is.
