Should the PC Gamer comparison video indeed hold true I'll certainly be vastly disappointed by CDR - for obvious reasons, which I don't think anyone sane in their mind could possibly argue.

Will the game still be good? Most likely to most certainly.

Will the game still be fun? Most likely to most certainly.

Does the game look wonderful and pushes new limits? Absolutely not, not anymore anyway and not by a long shot.

The positive: My 560Ti may suffices to play the game saving me a few hundred bucks.

The question at the end of the day would be why they opted for more of a cartoonish, WoW'ish style over what they had previously. The indoor lightning was, by far, the worst offender. Rendering quality and distance certainly took a heavy dive, too. Much like the quality of grass and general surroundings.

Unless the official release version looks drastically different from the version compared by PC Games everyone certainly the right to feel betrayed. Modders will hopefully mend some of it down the road should this be what we receive with the official release but no matter how good it may still looks, it looks indefinitely worse from what we've been suggested it'll look like, should there be no changes anymore (or enhanced, currently hidden settings).

Demoniko: They are from PC on Ultra, but Ultra is not the highest setting on PC. There is also Uber that is hidden by default, but you can enable it in config files. It looks way much better.
Well, unless one can afford a 2000€ PC I guess Über settings are gonna have to wait a bit for me... maybe in 2 years when I change my rig x)

Well, I don't know. I'm currently planning to start saving a bit every month so that in a year I could afford two cards in SLI. And I've heard dx12 is coming.

I have no job, still student so unless I get a job this summer I won't have much to spare every month ^^

Though I guess my rig is just fine and that 2 r9 290 in SLI might be enough and do a really good job... Right? D:

With AMD's track record recently and with the NVIDIA logo plastered all over this game I wouldn't really expect Crossfire to work very well at all with this game on release. AMD will probably fix it, slowly, eventually, as always. I would be very pleasantly surprised if it works well from the get go, like it did with GTA V.

I read that AMD cards work just as good as Nvidia card for this game. only Nvidia hairworks is better on Nvidia cards in this game. that is all.

Let's hope you're right mate! I also saw somewhere that The Witcher 3 runs easily on Ultra settings 1080p with a R9 290X, that would be great then.

Besides, special AMD drivers for The Witcher 3 are to be released next week.
Is it able to download the game from this website when I got the PC-CD form the game. Just asking because I dont have a cd device but bought the game from Amazon

If you got a redeem code as well, just activate it here and you'll get the game in your library. Then you can download the installer or the game via Galaxy (wouldn't recommend).

Yes, a single card, not Crossfire. I read the PCGH article too, they claim 50FPS with drops in the low 40s at 2560x1440. Crossfire rarely works flawlessly in any game with just the default AFR mode, it's highly unlikely to just work with no special driver/profile. I play at that resolution and 40-50 FPS isn't something I'm happy with, though it's acceptable I guess.

IMHO that's not great either, so if we're running CF we have a week of inferior performance to look forward to. You can probably get halfway through the game in that time, or even finish it if you've got the free time and don't do absolutely everything.

AMD really needs to get it together and release drivers for absolutely major releases like this immediately when they come out, not weeks/months late.

Edit: benchmarks are in, performance doesn't look great. It's Titan X (or SLI) I suppose if you want 60FPS at near-max settings even at 1080p. No AMD driver yet so we're probably out of luck.
