Maybe off topic, but I always wonder how "gamers" are so willing to spend 20 bucks on some large coffee or bucket of chicken or car wash...................... but complain and post about a $20 game that could provide entertainment for years.

I agree. I'll be happy to pay the $20 for the GOG version (whenever Beamdog decides they will.)

Off-topic: How long did it take for EE versions of their games to arrive on GOG after release? Trying to see if there is some sort of pattern.
IMO 20$ is the perfect price for this kind of game but, if I'm not wrong, nobody said that it was too pricey. The only price critick, which I share, is that 20$ more for only the soundtrack seems a little bit unfair. We are used to have a lot of bonus here including the soundtrack so pay twice the price for that is hard to understand.
No official word on GOG release?
Would be kinda disappointing not to have SoD here on day 1. It worked fine with IWD Enhanced, so get a move on, GOG!

It has *nothing* to do with GOG. Go and push Beamdog -- good luck with that, because you'll need it.
I don't see why GOG would'nt get this game, when all of Beamdog EE version are sold here.

I don't care about Day 1 release, but within the first week is acceptable.

Why the pessimism? According to the Beamdog forums, they're in talks with GOG on how to handle this release.

Don't avoid the issue. You said, "get a move on, GOG!" I said that it has nothing to do with GOG, and it doesn't. Beamdog could have organised a universal release date months ago. It's plainly not what they want.

In other words: you don't know anything more about what's really going on. Gotcha.

Of course I don't. I'm not a Beamdog developer. Duh!
Good to have a release date. I'm very interested to see what the hell a new Infinity Engine game made in 2016 will look like, and even if it isn't any good (which, let's be honest, is an entirely real possibility) it at least gives me an excuse to play Baldur's Gate and possibly Baldur's Gate II again.
If memory serves me correctly wasn't IWD:EE released on GOG about the same time it was launched on Beamdog & Steam, if not the same day itself? There was no previous advanced warning announcement, it was released here on GOG right out of the blue, right before the end of October (Halloween) 2014. My memory is kind of hazy on the timeline specifics.

In light of all this I'd be very surprised if SoD is not available here around the same time as the release at the end of this month. I will agree though that the noncommittal in public (if any at all) type responses are kind of tiring, they sound as though one is trying to hedge their bets & is being wishy washy.

I think thats the real issue... would have liked to see Beamdog put more time into bug busting before selling it but it is what it is... I'll buy it on gog when it comes around thou.

IWD:EE was relatively bug free at release, but for some reason I don't think we're going to be as fortunate with SoD. I'm not so sure I'm going to like too much the seemingly potentially drastic changes in the UI. I have a feeling that this will likely cause greater complaining than the UI changes to NWN2 from the OC to MotB.
