It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

dtgreene: So, in other words, the AVX version performs *worse* than the non-AVX version? That's rather interesting, if I understand what you're saying.
Correct, I have no clue about how on earth is that even possible...

REG2012: So what? It's an old and slow CPU. Don't expect the best quality out of it. Upgrade or shut up.

This. Most are running potatoes. They can't or won't accept that their hardware is too old. But they expect the devs to make it run good on their shitty old computers bahahaha!

The fact of the matter is PS4 Pro is too old. That CPU is too old. Upgrade or shut up.

Tregon: Actually, if you had paid attention to computers development, you would realize that 10 year old processors are not actually slow!

Last 10 years or so, processor performance has essentially been running in place. Things like AVX do not change that, their effect when used is only relevant for benchmarks. That is why few game developers even bother with it and most so far have removed AVX from their games as counterproductive.

So shut up and learn.
You haven't told me anything I don't already know.

All these people whining about not having AVX on their CPU there is a simple solution. Buy a newer one. Done. End of story.

Unfortunately those affected might not be able to just "buy a newer one" (i.e. CPU).

New CPU = new bus = new mainboard = new RAM, etc.

I well understand the sentiment of "it's too old", but the fact that I've an i7-980X and with the "hex avx hack" I get the game running at 60FPS with some drops to 50FPS in the city with my 2070 super, tells me it's simply not an essential necessity for the game.

Point in case: AC: Odysseus launched with AVX instruction too and a week later in Patch 1.03 for Windows, the requirement was removed. Likely no one deliberately uses AVX as for the mainstream the benefits are irrelevant.

I've faith that CDR is capable of doing the same and we'll just have to wait.

I'm in talks with their support (too, like others I guess). They're in fact aware but haven't budged regarding a possible patch, but they do actually for real to also linked to the nexusmod in the first response to me. Go figure ...

Anyway, I bought it on gog.com to support the devs for their hard work, yet a manual hex replacement it not an option for my well spent money. So it will depend on their response / patch and if none pops up soon, I'll have to go for a refund for the time being; sadly, because what I could play so far I really enjoy. Seems like a genuine really great game otherwise.

i7-4790k oc 4,4GHz (supports AVX and AVX2)
I think I see a slight perfomance drop of ~5% with the modded exe.
