Hello!

A review of AoD by Darth Roxor is up here: http://www.rpgcodex.net/content.php?id=10157

Explains pretty well why everyone should buy the game.

And for laffs: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2008/02/01/against-design-decadence-vince-d-weller/
If only it had been translated into italian i would have bought it asap.
As if I wasn't already wanting this game badly enough! It is my 2nd most-wanted game! And I want a lot of games! It looks like a phenomenal must-have must-play game, and the more I learn about it the more I burn for it. I'm glad I have bunches of other RPGs to satisfy until I can get it, but, GAH, yeah, it looks superb!!!

that is where it is at for me in a game too, not just because I get different playthroughs, but because I like the ability to choose and have that impact, gahhh, Ima go play Gothic RIGHT NOW.
I can't read anything written by someone with that username, but I guess I'll keep an eye out for a nice deal on that game.

He's one of the best reviewers out there. Better than "gaming journalists" that's for sure.

Heh. AoD creators review of oblivion http://www.rpgcodex.net/content.php?id=129

He's promising more content to endgame currently aswell. Especially in Ganezzar
Too many good games out there dammit.
Just read the interview; man, this guy Vince! While I agree with many things he says and I can see we have a similar taste in games, saying that "I’m making this game on a bold assumption that there are some people out there who are interested in complex games that aren’t made for retards", does not sound very nice in my opinion.

I love complex games, I love 4x strategies, I prefer a deep complex TB system full of statistics and the joy of dice over a simplistic RT in most games but man, how I love playing Diablo II or Titan Quest from time to time! And how many times did i beat those games without getting bored... Does this make me a retard?

Anyway, I can see that this guy Vince and his team just created a - hopefully - great, complex game that I think I'll enjoy when the time comes to lay my hands on it, but as I said, when you give an interview and hoping to attract new customers, some things must be said in good manner so as to achieve a nice image as a developer and not receive too many negative comments.

I'll read the review of the OP later because it's just too extensive to read through a 4" screen without damaging my vision permanently :p

edit: typos

Welcome to the Codex! Where every game that isn't a turn based isometric RPG set in a poor man's DnD universe is clearly a popamole.

On topic: I haven't read the review yet, but yeah he's a good reviewer.
That interview was reason enough for me to buy Age Of Decadence on release day.
"I mean, it’s nice that your site tries to attract morons and makes them feel at home, but shouldn’t you be educating them too?"

LOL! So funny. I'll definitely be playing this soon.

I looked at the reviews and gameplay at release, and put it on my "buy when on significant sale" list after briefly trying the demo.
The review makes this sound like an instant classic. Maybe I should get this earlier than I expected.
Also, wow, I had no idea that took 11 years of development.
gaaahhhhh!
