Hooyaah: Happy Thanksgiving!

By the way, don't eat turducken. Anything that begins with those four letters should not be put in one's mouth.
So no putting Randy Newman in one's mouth then? Sounds like good advice. o.0

That is more a vegan/vegetarian thing that's sorta a turkey substitute....I don't like it personally, but if they like it then more power to them.

I've never eaten turkey, how does it taste?

And happy Thanksgiving to anyone who celebrates it.

paladin181: Yes, today is thanksgiving. Wherein we celebrate our ancestors establishing a relationship with the indigenous people of the land they came to inhabit in a search of hope away from a theocracy. That they later betrayed that relationship is abominable, true, but the meaning of thanksgiving is still being thankful for the gifts you have, for the bounties of your own work, and literally for a successful harvest. I wish those who celebrate to have a great day. Be thankful for what you have.... so that tomorrow you can realize how inadequate it is and go spend money on all those mega sales!!

Life is what you make it, right? ;p

And hey, if you get lemons, make lemonade! lol

It tastes closer to chicken, but with it's own unique difference. You should try it sometime. :)

Thank you.

As for turkey it's close to chicken as the post above me says.....it also makes you a bit tired if you eat too much of it due to a chemical/etc naturally found in such meat, or so the story goes.

It's also very lean compared to red meat so it's also a good option of one needs to cut down on red meat for some reason.

Brined turkey breast is very good, and far easier to cook than a whole turkey. Yum!

My sister makes those, and I can attest to their tastiness.

Happiness seems to be something that makes some people very uncomfortable. lol

Seeing all the low ratings here it would seem that is partially true......some here seem to dislike some others(in particular) being happy or trying to make others happy.....the embodiment of the nofunallowed meme, essentially....they are possibly miserable and seem to like to make others that way as well, which is sad really.

Seriously? It's already passed, so you'd have to be talking about NEXT YEAR.....but in general:

Nothing, as it's not a holiday many celebrate(afaik) in my neck of the US....most just either use it to have a day off(school kids) or to sell stuff to people(stores), and the banks(iirc) seemingly like to use it to inconvenience people by closing when people might need to talk to a teller on said day(like taking out a big amount for said sales).

Or did you mean for the forums here? If that then I have nothing planned for next year, most likely....not many seem to be interested in that day here, or seem to know much about it, to make another thread on it(next year) a good idea. I might set up an appropriate avatar, though, but that's about it.

I think they've moved on to my contest thread and the reply thread tauto made, so you're "out of luck", I think.

Also +1. :)
