I'm sorry, I don't like to be mean, but really, what in the fuck were you expecting? For the website to read your mind and grant your wish? Nowhere does it say anything about "indy gems" or anything. The gambling sales are stupid, sure, but they're pretty straight forward about what they are. Shit, have you at least checked out the forum to see what games other people got? You'd know there's Torchlight there.

I already wrote this, twice - some editorial discretion and intelligence in putting together the list of mystery games. Torchlight is a game everybody and their dog already has. They might as well have put Solitaire on the list.

I guess GOG expected the same from their customers, and everyone ended up dissappointed. Seriously, you're like a kid whining about getting the wrong toy out of a kinder surprise. I give up. It's like talking to a brick wall. For some people it's always someone else's fault when their stupid action has an unwelcome result.

This is all on you I'm afraid. The FAQ is very clear about what the mystery game is all about.

Expecting gog to somehow track all your purchases from other stores is just unrealistic. I see no fault whatsoever from gog here.

It goes without saying that 'don't own" means "don't own on GOG" which is exactly the same thing as games you don't happen to have in your GOG account. I'm sorry, but the only one that should care about which games you own on other stores is you, not GOG, or any other store for that matter.

This link retrieves a list of all my steam games in a handy-dandy xml form. A wee bit of python/php/whatever is needed to parse it and match it to the GOG library. Similar solutions are possible for other stores. It's not the least bit unrealistic, or even faintly difficult.

This is however secondary to merely exercising good judgement in putting together the list of games for their customers to be pleasantly surprised over.

No, of course not. Steam has an API for authentication. Other stores, such as humblebundle.com use it.

OK, but at the moment GOG isn't using it to link your account to your steam account, so you can't expect them to get your steam games from the link provided.

I was merely debunking the notion that it was impossible, unrealistic, or improbable. I'm not saying that they're actually doing it, just that they could easily do so if they wanted to.

I contacted support (change purchase to code) asked how to get rid of mystery game KING'S BOUNTY: DARK SIDE - PREMIUM EDITION. Explained that I thought it might something off the wishlist or based on previous purchases also I would never download/Play KING'S BOUNTY, they gave me the option to refund or store credit. Went with store credit even though all I wanted was to change order to code to give game to someone who wants it. Will use credit towards Witcher 3.
KING'S BOUNTY was a great deal but just not my type of game.

I like mystery games. Like System Shock, waking up in a space station, wondering where all the humans are, and seeing service bots attacking you on sight for some reason. And then that lady contacting you with video mail and giving some hints!
