Just paid AU$200 for two copies of The Witcher Wild Hunt. They have a screen size of about 7 inches by 3 and a bit and think it's great....Unbelievable. The money is still being racked in. How many of you use a device like this and the other question is, Really?
I have one. It's nice because if something crazy comes up and interrupts you while docked, you can just use it in portable mode. The specs may not be anything special, and a disgusting number of indie games are dumped onto its store without any thought given to their performance or stability, but it's flexible and has some decent first-party games (including the first decent Fire Emblem in a long, long time).

It's definitely not the ideal platform for The Witcher 3 if you have more powerful options—we're talking about a console that can't even run the first-party Link's Awakening remake without huge swings in the frame rate—but it's cool that those who only have a Switch can play it.

To a certain degree, the hardware gets a pass because it's Nintendo and nostalgia for their heyday makes it hard for people to criticize them, but the Switch has some legitimate pluses. Especially for older people with a time crunch.

if something crazy comes up and interrupts you while docked < This bit has me confused. And they are Switch Lite, apparently they came out this year. I'll have to get an update on the Witcher, for playing problems and if any come up I'll put it in here but I would of thought that it has to be a decent piece of hardware to play the game.

Ah, that explains it. The original Switch has a dock that connects to a TV or monitor with an HDMI cable and power cord, and you can drop it into that dock to play on the TV at 1080p. Usually upscaled. Switching back and forth between TV and handheld mode is seamless, so you can pull it out of the dock and bring it with you without losing any progress.

Switch Lites are more like a successor to the 3DS line. I think they have slightly better hardware than a normal Switch? They can't connect to the TV or a dock, though, so it's all about the handheld play. That strikes me as being needlessly limiting, but I've never actually used one myself.

Too small for me but they could be useful travelling to work on the train, instead of having a phone or texting all day.
I love the concept behind Nintendo Switch. A lot of friends have one and they enjoy it a lot. Both of my very best friends play Pokémon and the game catalog seems to fit their taste. I'd happily play Witcher, Divinity or Pillars of Eternity in my couch/bed :)

I wish I had the money to buy one. Great console IMO. Trust me, most of them don't care or don't have the time to even think about technical stuff, resolutions, etc. They play the game and that's it

Given that it runs BotW and tW3 better than it runs Link's Awakening, I'd say that's more an optimisation/shitty-programming problem. Also Link's Awakening was developed by Grezzo, so it's second party at best.

Better in terms of being more power efficient, I haven't heard anything about them being better in terms of computing specs, but I may be wrong.

How is the motion tracking on the switch controllers and are there any hacks to make them work on the PC?
Just be aware the Switch is coming to the end of it's life. Nintendo are designing a totally new machine for the coming of the new console generation, rumoured to be based upon the same CPU's from the new Surface Pro. So it is very unlikely to have backwards compatibility. And the gulf in power means that getting ports will slow right down.

nVidia recently "unliked" their "like" on the Nintendo Facebook page. So there's all the proof you need.
I have an original Nintendo switch rumours and here say I'll see it when I'm looking at the new one I say.

Really? Why the F would they do that when the switch hasn't even been out long enough to build a decent librar...oh wait, it's nintendo....they likely want people to yet again rebuy their console locked games on their not backwards compatible systems to sell people zelda and mario for the nth time at full price.

Didn't most new nintendo systems already use non-nvidia vid chips/cards anyways?

So glad we have breaking news that Nintendo's Switch system is already coming to and end due to Facebook likes. RIP Metroid Prime 4
I'm going to buy one - just couple months ago I was thinking about buying myself 3DS but after reviewing game's catalog it seems that all these games I'm interested in are also on VITA (I own one) and switch gets games you can't find on any other portable system (coz there is none other then Switch:-(

If only they hadn't restarted development! We could have had a mediocre MP4 already!

The 3DS has an amazing library, but if (as you say) the only games you're interested in are also available elsewhere then fair enough. It has some great first party titles, but maybe they don't fancy your tickle or boat your float.
