Ha, typical. I brought a PS4 this year specifically for RDR2. Have never really got far into it, can’t place exactly why. Just seemed slow and not intuitive controls. And actually brought RDRevolver on ps store just a week ago when it was on sale - had it back in the day on Xbox.
It’s good they are being released on pc, just hope they put some effort in, a fairly large percentage of console ports are just bad, either lack of effort, bad controls, or shoddy engine.

It's weird because all their games within the last decade+ have been on their own RAGE engine. I guess the iteration of it that they rolled out with GTA V must make it easier to do PC ports than the one used for the first Red Dead Redemption title.
I wonder how ridiculous the DRM is going to be this time.

There were a lot of "insider reports" that said the first RDR just came at a bad time, finished by a studio with a lot of crazy tech shortcuts and then the time a PC port would have been considered it was all hands on deck with GTA5 and its ports to later consoles and PC. I guess after that they just didn't see much market for an "old game." Sucks, but oh well. I'm sure it'll work great in emulation someday.
I don't really care about Rockstar except that they are on my blacklist alongside EA,Activision, 2K and Ubisoft now and i can't say it bothers me since all the stuff they have made in recent years is not to my liking and all their old games i already have anyway, i'm just sick and tired of Denuvo, horrible microtransactions and/or lootboxes and layers of drm that i have all but given up on them and their subsidiaries.

So am I weird for thinking this game kind of sucks? Playing it for the first time on PC and lordy, everything is soooooo clunky and annoying to do. I'm gonna try focusing only on the missions and see if that's better, but it's just painful to play. Doing simple things takes 5 button combinations, the animations are so slow and not even realistic, the stamina system just adds annoyance and it takes forever to get anywhere.

I like open worlds when they're interesting and filled with stuff to do that's entertaining (Bethesda is good at this) but Rockstar games have always had open worlds that look cool but have zero depth, so they're just a road to the missions really. That road in this game is drawn out to 1,000 for no real reason. Also I don't think the Rockstar formula of "wacky people your character mocks but then does whatever they want" storytelling really works in the Western setting. It only works in GTA as modern satire.

Anyway maybe I'm just not in the mood but 10ish hours in I'm really not enjoying this game at all.

Nope, its exactly what I thought on PS4. Controls were terrible. They were that bad it really took away from the game. I have spoken to others who had the same experience. What would be nice is if we could get the original - which was a classic - and maybe redemption on PC!

No, felt same when I played on PS4. I made it through 3/4 of the story and just gave up. IMO there were just too many problems with the gameplay, world, and storytelling... and I say this with Westerns being my favorite genre of entertainment.

Yep, same on PS4! Felt like Arthur was walking, riding, and aiming while in quicksand. Didn't enjoy much of the experience.

Did you make it through the campaign / storyline?

I gave up 3/4 of the way through and haven't picked the game up since. Keep hearing from some the ending redeems the game, but I dunno... the game experience IMO was pretty terrible.

To anyone else reading this... I'm aware many, many, many have found RDR2 to be a great game and had fun with it. I'm just saying that being a fan of RDR -- which I am -- doesn't particularly mean you'll love 2.
