They've updated the system to show that their system is apparently bogged down with key redemptions, stating:

Great news! You’ve successfully added 1 item to your GOG account.

Due to high demand, your game might take a little longer to appear in your Owned Games section, but don’t worry — it’ll be there shortly!
Just hoping I'll see them added to my account by tomorrow, added 3 new games today that still aren't showing (Hero's Hour, Planet of Lana & The Coma: Recut )... I'll keep watching on my order history until I see they are added.

Fuguss: From what I have read on reddit, people say it took them hours but the games eventually appeared, but still keeping an eye out either way.

vipor231: they have to fix this cuz this is very annoying
Nothing really to be fixed. It seems to be workig with delay which is mentioned when you redeem a game as a message. I just got my game that I redeemed 4-5 hours ago, got the e-mail too There is probably no other way for them to do it without the servers exploding. Personally I am okay with that

Me too. It's actually quite an elegant solution to the problem, much better than last week. In my case, it took 72 minutes between redeeming the keys and the games appearing in my library. Not too bad.

The problem --- as usual with GOG --- is that they do not inform their clientele properly beforehand, but we're already used to that.
Just redeemed 3 keys and all good.. if anybody is facing the issue just spam click the f out of it nd it eventually gets added in 4th or 5th attempt. Always worked for me.

If the only customers who redeemed codes were those who obtained them personally, then sure. But this design sucks for people who try to redeem those "ninja" codes from public giveaways. The codes can't be reliably checked to see if they're still valid, so anyone who redeems the code thinks they are a winner... and no message is delivered to indicate the tried code failed when it finally gets processed. Ergo, instead of getting a fail and looking further afield until you find a valid key elsewhere you're either going to be sitting there waiting for something to happen/not happen, OR you're going to hit every single code you see over the next few hours until finally the code shows up in your account.

It has its drawbacks. Elegance comes from code which works for all users.
For those having trouble seeing their redeemed game in their library web page, try the following link.

That usually fixes things.

Are you sure? From my tests yesterday and today, the success or failure message arrives immediately --- it's just that in the case of success, the game is available for download with a delay of one or more hours.

If the code is still in the queue and not already processed it'll come up as available and successful. If it's been processed, yes, it will come up as used.

So if it's a freshly-dropped code and everyone scrambles to claim it first, they'll ALL think they won.

I just re-checked myself. The first code I tried from a twitter drop clearly wasn't the one I won, because a personal gift I got later (for the same game) and redeemed, a code which was not given to anyone else, is now used. Hence the second code I used succeeded, the first one did not... unless both got redeemed (by me), which I severely doubt.

In conclusion this means the queue system doesn't mark a code redeemed once it's placed in there, it only gets marked redeemed when it gets finally and properly processed. This is also the reason why you can seemingly redeem it multiple times yourself: the queue system is holding back processing the redemption claim. This is basically useless for a time-sensitive giveaway drop.

Good to know. Thanks.

This absolutely helped, I had some of those games claimed a good two weeks ago, and they did not appear in my library, this fixed things.

Thanks a lot!
