Ion Fury is now available DRM-free.

While Shelly “Bombshell” Harrison earned her codename defusing bombs for the Global Defense Force, when evil transhumanist mastermind Dr. Jadus Heskel unleashes the members of his cybernetic cult onto the streets of Neo DC, she knows it’s time to start causing explosions instead of preventing them.

Her quest to slay Heskel leaves a trail of carnage throughout huge, multi-path levels filled with gigantic explosions, more secret areas than we can count, and inhuman foes behind every corner. There’s no regenerating health here; stop taking cover and start running and gunning.
The funny thing is, the game looks incredibly cool with it's retro Build engine style and Duke3D balls... oh the memories...
but at the same time those same memories tell me, how incredibly realistic Duke3D looked at the time - compared to the abstract brown corridors of Doom and Quake (which I both love). There was the cinema complete with toilets, offices, bars, a NASA station (with moonlanding film set...), a highrise area flooded in water...

I wonder why we can't have both - an incredible fun game with "balls of steel" (even with a lady protagonist) and incredibly detailed and realistic environments by today's standards...
Looks cool, someday for sure...

In the official 3D Realms Discord the Ion Fury devs seem to be intent on adding achievement support in the near future. Pic attached

imo, If you live and die by achievements you're best off just using Steam. I hope someday adding achievements to Galaxy doesn't take long at all, but I guess that's not the case right now.

if or when retro fpses become oversaturated what will people yearn for? heavily-scripted space-future CoD knockoffs? back to WW2? it feels cyclical like RATT's song

I do not believe him.
I texted a dev and he said otherwise.
Nice, didn't know it was released yesterday. Here we have 9 a.m. now ...
Finally out, huh? Cool. I'll pick this up later for sure.
