Probably the reason why I am not as annoyed by the UI haha

Darvond: So quick question.
When was the last time you visited?

Secondly, instead of wildly thrashing like a 80 year old having a tantrum, did you sit for a moment to observe the games tab under the account menu?
Indeed I did. Yesterday it just redirected me to this newfangled "profile" business. Today it's working fine. Who knows what happened.

And I'll thrash however much I damn please. Get off my lawn.

Clicking your username on the navigation bar across the top of the screen should take you to your profile's activity feed. To get to your actual game library, best to get into the habit of hovering over your username, then clicking "Games" from the dropdown menu. (Yes, this is an annoying change for those of us who neither use Galaxy nor care about profiles, but in truth, it's not a great hardship.) :)

Berkyr: You'll get used to it eventually. Also, I heard that a new UI was currently in the works.
The UI HAS been improved. If in the library you opt to show updated games, then click a game to see the details of a game like the changelog, the other updated games stay visible and you don't need to go through the steps of showing them again. The same is true of searches in your libraries: the search results stay there, while you click on the details of a game. A huge improvement, that we have been waiting for for years.

Today it's working fine? Hmm. Did you disable your profile? If you do disable your profile, then your account name will lead to your games library, otherwise it leads to your profile.

But if you didn't disable your profile... And you didn't know about your profile until yesterday... Then maybe GOG also switched the profiles off by default instead of on.

EDIT: I mean, yesterday the account name link was fixed so it doesn't go to a 404 error anymore if the profile is disabled. Instead it now goes to the game library like it used to before profiles were introduced.

The profiles were enabled by default when introduced, but maybe yesterday GOG also disabled the profiles by default for anybody who hasn't logged in since the profiles were introduced?

Themken: To answer the original question:

I guess what you are seeing is your user profile that shows the world what games you have, which achievements you have, how long you have played the games and such; all only working properly if you use the Galaxy.

If you would like to kiss all that goodbye, go here https://www.gog.com/account/settings/privacy and untick 'profile enabled' whereupon the website will look like before.

If you want to keep the new profile thingy functioning, you can either use Galaxy or get to your library for downloads by hovering over your account name and clicking on the 'games' in the popping up menu.

--------
Also, thanks GOG for no more 404 when clicking on my account's name (profile DISabled).
Thanks! Whew, that is much better now. I don't mind change but I am not a fan of the UI when profile is enabled.

tinyE: I just noticed when I go to a game and click to go to the GOG Downloader, the menu its on his blocked by another menu that says Assign Tags/Changlog.

That's really really fucking annoying.
Welcome go gogrepo, would you like a fairfox with that?

I have myself disabled my profile now, but it was working again before I did that. When it wasn't working I did indeed try to access my games library through the dropdown menu, multiple times, before using the account name link with zero change in result.

I get that you think I room temperature IQ-ed my way around the site - and I'd probably make the same assumption in your shoes, but I was legit experiencing a mystery glitch that day. I'm happy to see the site isn't broken, but I gotta wonder what that was. I'm allowing all the scripts running on GoG main page except from googletagmanager.com, so I have no clue what could have caused it.
