It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

The fuck happened? I log into my account to install some games, and instead of the old and userfriendly grid-style list of games and the search bar there's this mess of a youtube list copycat thing. No search bar to find the game I want to install. Is this the new thing, scrolling through your entire games collection to find one game? Did the site just break in my browser? What's going on?
So quick question.
When was the last time you visited?

Secondly, instead of wildly thrashing like a 80 year old having a tantrum, did you sit for a moment to observe the games tab under the account menu?

That is possible. What web browser are you using?

When you go to your account, you could click the "view as" on the top right hand corner next to "sort by" and view your games as "grid" instead of a list view.
Okay weird!

The "Activity feed" and "Profile" links disappeared from the account menu. And the account name now goes to the game library like it used to!

I mean, it now links to account. No need to hover the pointer first and then choose "Games".

I wonder how long that will last...

EDIT: Or is this a new thing for when the profile is disabled?
Does anybody have an enabled profile that can check what it's like now? Does the name at the top of the webpage go to your activity feed (or profile, or whatever) or does it go to your games library?

I just noticed when I go to a game and click to go to the GOG Downloader, the menu its on his blocked by another menu that says Assign Tags/Changlog.

That's really really fucking annoying.

With Barefoot Essentials: my username links to my games library
Without Barefoot Essentials: my username links to my profile

EDIT: And I still have "Activity Feed" and "Your Profile" as options in the menu under my username (with or without BE).

Thank you. I assume you have not disabled your profile. Currently, I still have the results I described, nothing has changed. And I'm not using any web browser plug-ins or extensions.

EDIT:
Okay, I went to "Privacy & settings" in the account menu at the top of the menu page. I enabled my profile, and then hovered the pointer over the account menu. The links for the activity feed and profile are then there.

Then I checked the checkbox again to disable my profile. I hovered the pointer over the account menu again and the links to the activity feed and profile were no longer there.

I didn't reload the page. Instead this seems to happen instantly upon toggling the checkbox for enable/disable the profile.

This was what we were waiting for. Thanks GOG!

To answer the original question:

I guess what you are seeing is your user profile that shows the world what games you have, which achievements you have, how long you have played the games and such; all only working properly if you use the Galaxy.

If you would like to kiss all that goodbye, go here https://www.gog.com/account/settings/privacy and untick 'profile enabled' whereupon the website will look like before.

If you want to keep the new profile thingy functioning, you can either use Galaxy or get to your library for downloads by hovering over your account name and clicking on the 'games' in the popping up menu.

--------
Also, thanks GOG for no more 404 when clicking on my account's name (profile DISabled).

Thanks, good riddance to it.
It's all been "improved" over the last year or so.

It certainly has got worse. The only real difference is people started whining like over entitled babies.

Bingo!
I also noticed that shit menu yesterday.
Why didn't they just let it be the way it was?

You'll get used to it eventually. Also, I heard that a new UI was currently in the works.
