Freewind: you know I had a i7960 and a 8800 GTS. So a decent CPU (made 2 years ago) and a very old graphic card (made in 2007). I run the game on normal. The only option I put down is very high downscale texture.

others have given you good advise. Sorry for the very bad experience

hallowalex78: Thanks, man:) I really hate computers sometimes... I´d just like to call the developers and tell them to, like, make a game that f*****g works:P

cbarbagallo: I will when I get home tonight.

I've got a Radeon 4870 that runs every other game I have at high settings so I was very disappointed when W2 failed to run well full screen even on low settings and it was largely the stuttering that many people have complained about. I resolved to not play the game until the issue was fixed. I could run in a 1600x1000 window but seeing my desktop behind the game blows.

So, I tried the settings above with no better luck. Then I went in search of a framerate limiter. I found FPS_Limiter in another forum and ran it at the default of 30 fps. WOW!!! I can now run W2 at 1600x1000 full screen with the settings above and zero stuttering where there was massive stuttering before. I have 1920x1200 monitor but that resolution with these settings brings the stuttering back. 1600x1000 looks almost as good and is smooth which is the most important thing to me.

I hope CDPR can solve this problem with a patch, but in the meantime, I'm a happy gamer again.
i also got performance issue and want to try the FPS_Limiter you mention. can i get the download links? i try to google but found dead links

Yup. I don't think that I mentioned. But, I am using FPS Limiter with my settings above.
I am running this game on Ultra ( no Uber) and do not have any problems.
I set it Ultra, turned off Uber and that's it.

My specs;

Win7 64 bit
AMD 7950 quad core CPU
5 gigs DDR3
Nvidia GT440

It's been said that my card wouldn't handle Ultra well but it does.
The only difference that I can see is it takes the load screen a couple of seconds longer than it did on high settings.

I honestly can not see that it is a game problem.
I can't say 100% but it looks as though most of the people with the biggest FPS/stuttering problem are either running an Intel processor, an ATI card or both.

hallowalex78: Hey guys, I was hoping that I someone might be able to help, or at least find someone with a similar problem. I should probably start with saying that I have the retail version of the game, but, as corny as it sounds, this place just seems like one of the friendlier;D My problem is that I just can´t get the game to run ok. I have an Intel core i7 860 @ 2.8 ghz, 6 gigs of ram and a Radeon 6970 with 2 gigs of vram. I want to believe that this is not a crappy computer, but maybe I´m wrong. On low settings i get around 50 fps when I´m in towns, or at least the first two. When I turn up the textures a little bit to medium and some of the effects (not AntiAlias, SSAO or UberSampling) it immidiately drops to between 20-25. Is this a totally unnecessary post? Is this game just ridiculously, and unjustifiably, demanding on your hardware? I also should mention that I have the latest patch for both the game and my GPU, plus the hotfix for the GPU.
This may help you decide where the bottle neck is.

That is the ultra high test, you can get to the low settings test from there.
