Kindo: There's a bruxa (a type of vampire) that randomly can appear in the swamp outside Flotsam, by the tree with two hanged elves.
I have not experienced this.
I'd actually like to see some more "fantastical" monsters from the world of The Witcher. It seems like a lot of the monsters in TW2 are either necrophages or undead (lots of wraiths, in particular). The addition of the Harpies was great, but the Arachas felt a lot like your traditional "giant bug" monster. I'd love to see more "living, but monstrous" creatures, like the Bloedzuigers from TW1.

Well, from what we know blood works on vampires like wine does on humans in the witcheverse: http://witcher.wikia.com/wiki/Emiel_Regis_Rohellec_Terzieff-Godefroy

Drinking alone is a sure sign of addiction, and you can't even pull up a mirror and toast the handsome guy on the other side!

My point exactly. Uniqueness, even when it's based on familiar myths and forms, is one of the strongest sides of the Witcher series.

That is of course purely subjective. De gustibus and so on.

Hmm... Even so, I think they look awesome. I definitely prefer both the bruxa (and the wraith) designs of TW2, to the ones in TW1.

what!? the bruxae design in TW2 looks like a wraith with Triss hair. It didn't look like a vampire at all when I looked at it the first time.
I must agree I didn't know the "wraiths" were Bruxae until someone told me! I thought they were just atractive wraiths

Same here. I bought a book on Bruxae from some vendor and I was wondering for the longest time where you'd find Bruxae.
same here
In w1 Bruxae & Alps are physical beings. (there vampires). In W2 they are all wispy and wraith like and float about, and just appear out of nothing.
