Forget bitcoin. I think WoW Gold should be recognized as a legal currency with a stock value. I mean 2 weeks ago 100g was still sold for 400USD on an Oceanic Classic server. People really wanted those mounts. It's not worth that much now of course.

Back in the old days a friend of mine (cough cough wink wink) may have used a certain automated fishing bot to farm deviate fish overnight. Which he then sold for gold to people that wanted to look like a ninja or pirate. Which he could then sell for actual money. Of course I would never do that because it's illegal (cough cough).

Poland don't like Bitcoin, too much scammer, so it will not happen.

Nice!
I wonder if there are some bots who down-vote every single post or something...

Anyway. There are some resellers (sadly only for steam games) that already accept bitcoin. And I've bought some games (for example - recently hyped starsector) off developers directly, coz they use bmtmicro as payment processing service and these support bitpay as one of purchase methods. So, usage of crypto to get games is a thing that exists.

But there are two drawbacks, as far as I see:
- Business-oriented crypto-to-money exchange services (such as said bitpay) usually get higher % off transactions than "default" (e.g without involving crypto) purchase methods.
- Im not sure if crypto transactions are legal in Poland. If they arent directly allowed, anything bigger than indie devs wont risk to support these, until situation will change.

There is also problem with volatility of crypto too...

Paying with Bitcoin would be better/easier than paying with card if governments wouldnt have totally messed it up with artificial restrictions on both sides. The user basically has to tax every Bitcoin transaction individually - at least in Germany here. And for the shops there is no regulatory clarity.

it's really complicate but maybe later if it's settle, it could happen. but it would be surprising

Not sure what you mean but IMO bitcoin is easy to use and doesnt have any of the annoying complications of credit cards and other payment systems which are bogged down by various parties self interests (the card company, governments, maybe others).
