Kleetus: This method of patching is ridiculous.

I need patch v1.1 prior to installing patch v1.2.

No problem, execept patch v1.1 installs Troll Trouble DLC, and it must be deleted from CookedPC folder before patch v1.2 can be installed, which then installs Troll Trouble.

It's all clunky and unnecessary, I shouldn't have to screw around just to get a patch to install.
I managed to install patch 1.2 over patch 1.1 np without having to fiddle with the DLCs.

Not for me it didn't... installed without a hitch, no removing of mods required. I was up to 1.1, and had all DLCs and 7 mods installed. *shrugs*

Downloading the patch through the launcher doesn´t work for me, I only get a "connection refused" message all the time.
Does anyone know a solution for the "connection refused" error?

I did not need to do that. Simply updated through the launcher. All was good.
My G35 Headset now works, beautiful music.

Retried the sequence at the beginning of chapter 1 (the hanging) and it runs way smoother than previously (with all blur effects) so nice on the performance improvement, I'll be able to start playing the game today.

Also, is it normal that a bunch of objects appear in my inventory? Is it related to the "witcher 1 save import now working better" part of the changelog? I haven't started from the beginning so I guess it was imported but ignored till patch 1.2 ?

Still, a couple of the items I don't remember getting. :P

Cheers!

It's all the pre-order DLC that has been made available for everyone now. Look at the changelog for further info what exactly they are.
Also, just a heads up to check the stats of all the items you already had.
The patch fixes some balancing issues.

I had a cutlass with 67% bleeding and poison and its now been "rebalanced" to 10%
Im gonna miss that weapon.

LOL... I did too. It was too good to be true. My Superb Cutlass had +80 bleed. Now, that's a weapon! Unfortunately, it has reverted back to "just another Act1 sword"...

You have something stopping the connection. Firewall, Antivirus... check and open up your connection.

I think the re-balancing might force me to restart the game. I am only in Chpt. 1, so no big deal. Plus the import fixes will come into play, as well.
I can't help but get the feeling I must be doing something wrong.

I'm running Win7 64-bit. When I launch the game, there's no prompt to patch to 1.2. The "Downloadable Content" option is still in the launcher menu and indicates the only DLC I have is "Troll Trouble." If I run the patcher by itself (run as administrator), it says the game is up to date. If I try to download the patch manually and install it, it says the game is incomplete. If I uninstall and reinstall the game, the patcher runs after installation, but it's right back where it was.

What am I missing?

Proceed like this:
1. Uninstall the game
2. Delete any left-over files (except for the stuff in your Documents folder)
3. Reboot your system
4. Install the game
5. Do not start the game, apply Patch 1.1 right away instead (see OP for link to 1.1, make sure you're using the right patch for your version of the game (retail, gog, etc))
6. Apply patch 1.2 manually (see OP for link to 1.2)
7. Start the game, see if it worked and report back here.

Also, re-download the patches using the links I gave in OP. Do not use the files you already have.

You don't have to uninstall the game. The guy is just not using the correct patch. You need to go to your documents->The Witcher 2->downloads directory and use the 1.2 patch in there or download the patch from cd project that someone link to in this thread. Then close out the witcher and run the patch.

I just did this not 10 minutes ago on win 7 64 bit and it worked fine. The only problem I had was figuring out where the hell the patch downloaded to.
How do I know if the patch took?? The brothel has oriental style rugs on the walls but my saves are 25Mb(endish of Ch 1)?? Also no mysterious Merchant?? and am looking for a barber!!

I hope I didn't miss this already but a search didn't come up with a responce!!

EDIT: Nevermind, It wasn't installed!! I ran it from the Downloads Dir AND its all Fregged Up Now!!

SO I'm reinstalling to ver 1.1 (If I can) I was getting prefixes on all my Menu items (I wasn't haven't any problems before the patch just wanted the DLC's ...shit) All my video settings got reset and the options in the launcher have been super streamlined.....boo

Now its really a console version (weeping into beer)

ps. If this doesn't work they should drop the price another 10 bucks!!! (rage over) It did work, I'm back to ver1.1 OK bing the price back to normal!!(tail between legs)

I did pick up some benefits though got a fire rune, Mage trouser's and herbalist gloves so that's good :)

It could say which version is installed in main screen. I just checked my witcher exe file and there it said 1.2 and something. And I got trousers and jacket, didn't notice much else. Launcher doesn't have downloadable content system so I don't know nothing about any troll trouble. But I just tried it for couple of hours. But I think that I'm going to throw those jackets and else in the ground. I don't want to have some ultimate socks +7 right from the start. especially when it's my first time to play the game.
Well.. My main consern is still finishing W1 first before I really start playing 2. So back to that. =)
Thanks for the info about the new items.

Also, I don't have the DLC option in the launcher menu, is this normal?
