why don't they just do steam version patches and forget about the stupid auto update feature?
steam treats its customers like idiots who don't know how to install a patch. and maybe they're right and it's more convenient for the average steam user.
now cdpr has to do little dzip packets for steam in every game update. i can only wonder what kind of performance issues that would cause. not to mention the old files still sitting inside pack0 conflicting with new files sitting outside of it. this isn't additional files, but replacement files. that means it won't be using old file structure.
thinking about this pisses me off how valve idiots refuse to make things work for developers. they just want their idiot system intact so the morons don't have to learn how to install patches.
