It's downloaded, but now the launcher is sitting there saying patch 1.2 is ready to be installed so uh..how do I make it install!?

Several people reported this. I think you can start it manually from Documents/Witcher 2/Downloads. If not, manually download it from thewitcher.com.

I already had 1.1 installed, with all the DLC's and a mod (GOG version). I installed Patch 1.2 through the launcher and it installed just fine.

Yes, they really cleaned up the launcher. Looks kinda empty, now.

Well that patched it but WOW is this broken. Everyone's name appears as name.WhateverName, the options in the menu are Load_T and stuff like that, and I can't talk to anyone. What did this DO? :O

Doesn't sound good.... you can try running the Patcher_1.2.exe again. Make sure the launcher isn't running while you do. If that doesn't help, I guess you're in for reinstalling the game. :-/

Oh, and: Did you re-download it or use the file in Documents\etc?
Maybe the installation doesn't start for a good reason like broken/incomplete download. What's the size of your Patcher_1.2.exe file?

nevermind. It patched improperly the first time, said something about the launcher failing to patch. That was the most bizarre screwup I've ever seen. My journal even had an entry about Earnest Hemmingway.

My game broke. I can't talk to npcs or target enemies. Maybe it's because I have mods installed that are no longer compatible that break the game, but I'm going to do a fresh re-install of the game anyway to try and clean up my game and hopefully fix it.

Did you update your graphics drivers / Catalyst profiles today?
Maybe your problem has nothing to do with the patch.

I installed that 11-5 CAP 4 last night. It seems that was a mistake because I never had a problem with the game before without it.

Just installed the patch for the gog version.

I loaded up my last saved game and I was encumbered. I definitely did not save while encumbered. I would never do that.

It's not that big of a deal. It's just odd.

Anyone else experience this?
