The launcher downloaded and even installed the patch for me. I just wonder why EVERY patch has to reset my settings :-(
If I need to dl 9gb from steam again my face will be sad.

deeviusnz: That didn't work for me, and the downloader in the Launcher just gave me the same error.

Could it be because I have mods installed?
Possible. I'd even say 'likely'.

Can anyone confirm it?

Could you un-install those mods one by one, so that we can isolate those mods which are making trouble?
That's weird. I used to play on full screen @ 1920x1200 without black bars but now that I've patched I do have the black bars...
got rid of every mod in the CookedPC folder I could find, still no luck. Can't think of any other files I might have modified.

might have to do a full reinstall, sigh.

Thanks for the new patch! Kick azz in the console market (always with good ports of superb PC games, of course!)

And please, why does the patcher always reset my config including my remapped keys? Since I have a backup of it in another HD, just copying the old one over fix it, right?

BTW, mouse works a lot better on game menus with:
[MouseInput]
SensitivityX=0
SensitivityY=0
Smoothness=0

Why isn't it default? Or has it changed in 1.2?
Restarting a new Insane run hoping that controls are indeed more responsive! =)
So does Steam have the patch yet and where in the game do you find out which version your running? I dont see it anywhere on the launcher anyway.

No updates from my Steam client yet either. We have to wait a bit.

I have the GoG version, and the patch does work.. UI seems less sluggish, and swordplay feels better. Casting signs after rolling delay still exist tho, but overall a very solid patch

Have a wonderful evening! ;p

No offence meant, just springs to mind, whenever someone's saying something like "full reinstall". ;)

Reinstalling isnt so bad, infact I'm doing it right now anyway despite having no problem installing the standalone patch, i'm concerned that since i installed much of the DLC earlier, installing the patch (which contain all the DLC) might introduce some bug... Reinstalling is the safest bet:)

Hi. I had the same problem after downloading and trying to install the patch. I also have the Gog version, and my solution was to put in the 1.1 patch from Gog first, and then run the 1.2 patch. The error disappeared, and now it is up to date.

Hope this helps and good luck.
Do'h. Oh well, just started reinstalling anyway. Takes damned near forever though, and means I have to defrag again.
